Studio Policies

Last updated: June 2026

1. Practice Expectations

• Consistent practice is one of the most important factors in a student's progress.

• Short, regular practice sessions are generally more effective than one long practice session each week.

• Students are encouraged to develop healthy practice habits appropriate for their age and level.

2. Parental Support

• For younger students, parental involvement can have a significant impact on learning and progress.

• Parents are encouraged to take an active role in home practice, especially during the first year of lessons.

• Parents are welcome to observe lessons if they wish.

3. Scheduling

• Regular lessons are offered Monday through Friday.

• No regular lessons are held on weekends.

• Lessons are normally held on statutory holidays. Christmas and year end schedules will be communicated separately each year.

• Each student is assigned a regular weekly lesson time. Schedule changes may be arranged when available.

4. Attendance & Make Up Lessons

• Please provide at least 24 hours' notice for planned absences whenever possible.

• For absences reported at least 24 hours in advance, families may request a make up lesson. Make up lessons are not guaranteed and are subject to teacher availability.

• No make up lessons will be offered for same day cancellations or no shows.

• In the case of illness, practice assignments, lesson notes, or other learning materials may be provided at the teacher's discretion.

• If the teacher must cancel a lesson, a make up lesson or credit will be provided.

5. Withdrawal & Refunds

• Monthly tuition reserves a student's regular lesson time and is not based solely on attendance.

• To discontinue lessons for the following month, written notice by email must be provided at least two weeks before the end of the current month.

• No refunds will be issued after this notice deadline.

• Students are welcome to take a summer break or extended leave. However, lesson times cannot be guaranteed during an absence and returning students will be scheduled based on studio availability.

6. Payment Terms

• Tuition is due before the first lesson of each month.

• Invoices are generally sent approximately one week before the end of each month.

• Payment may be made by e Transfer to azaleapianoschool@gmail.com.

• A 5% late fee may be applied to overdue payments unless prior arrangements have been made.

7. Studio Conduct

• Students and families are expected to treat the studio, instruments, and property with respect.

• No food or drinks, except water, are permitted near the piano.

• Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your lesson time.

• Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising siblings who are not attending lessons.

8. Privacy & Communication

• Student information will be kept confidential and used only for studio administration purposes.

• Schedule updates, invoices, and studio announcements may be communicated by email or text message.

9. Media Release

• By enrolling in lessons, students and parents/guardians grant permission for photos, videos, and recordings taken during studio activities to be used for educational and promotional purposes.

• Permission may be withdrawn at any time by providing written notice.

10. Liability Release

• Students and parents/guardians understand that participation in lessons and studio activities is at their own risk and agree not to hold Azalea Piano Studio (Dallae Jin) responsible for accidents, injuries, illness, property damage, or other losses that may occur in connection with studio activities.
